UFRJ’s Pole in Xerém
University Campus of UFRJ in Xerém. Construction of Laboratory and Teaching Building for the Pole of Xerém.
This multidisciplinary project aimed at building a building to be the new pole of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, located in the district of Xerem, in the city of Duque de Caxias. The origin of the proposal is related to the initiative of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro to offer more courses and campus in different cases. This project involves the construction of a new building in a large lot with a high density of trees and two rivers. The project concerns the issue of environmental preservation and seek to create a proposal that can interfere with the minimum possible in the environment, and create a sustainable and eco-sufficient building. Considering the speed required to finalize the project, it was used the same system of modules, today used in blocks H and J (current block N) very practical and efficient of the Center of Science and Health of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (CCS-UFRJ). The project counts with blocks for the classrooms, both theoretical and practical, as well as laboratories teams and auxiliary blocks with sub-station and auditorium, in addition to surfaces intended for the administration, secretariat, management, meeting rooms and services.
