Luciana Costa Laboratory

Complete project for two (02) research laboratories and practical classes of the Department of Virology of the Institute of Microbiology Paulo de Góes, UFRJ.

The problem addressed by the students is to acoustically condition the room studied, because of the high noise level in the place, because it is necessary to speak very loudly. There is a concern to make students aware of the acoustic quality of the class in real projects in contact with the client. The job is to analyze the situation and propose solutions accompanied by a budget. Four (04) stages are defined: problem analysis, in situ investigation (acoustic photography), acoustic calculations, presentation of budget solutions.

The students performed on-site measurements, analyzed the acoustic conditions of the enclosure in question, and proposed insulation solutions to disturbing sources.
